The Hit Stick has been in Madden for a few years now, but it only allowed the user in control of the defender to make bone crushing high hits. In Madden 08, EA has given us Hit Stick 2.0.  What is Hit Stick 2.0?  Hit Stick 2.0 allows the user to not only tackle the ball carrier high, but also tackle the ball carrier with a cut (low) tackle.

Cut (Low) Tackle

To perform a cut tackle, flick the R3 stick down. The defender will attempt to cut the legs out from  underneath the ball carrier. This is a good way to bring down the bigger running backs in the game.

High Tackle

By flipping the R3 stick up, the defender will attempt to make a high tackle on the ball carrier. A solid a high stick can cause the ball carrier to fumble the ball.
